Direct 300 mm equivalent
TSMC and GlobalFoundries publish annual shipment values on a 12-inch or 300 mm equivalent basis. Their normalized field requires no size conversion.
VLSI Market uses official company and exchange disclosures to compare foundry businesses. Pure-play company revenue, internal manufacturing-segment revenue, and third-party external revenue remain separate because they answer different questions.
The primary metric is reported FY2025 revenue in U.S. dollars. A value enters the dataset only when its period, currency, business scope, and official source are known. A convenience translation supplied in an official filing is retained as reported; otherwise any conversion must be labeled derived.
Pure-play company total is used for dedicated foundries whose consolidated business is predominantly wafer fabrication and related services. It is the closest publicly reproducible peer group, but differences in masks, packaging, intellectual property, and other services can remain.
Foundry segment including intersegment revenue is used for Intel Foundry. The value principally reflects manufacturing for Intel product businesses and is not interchangeable with third-party foundry sales.
Not separately disclosed is used for Samsung Foundry because Samsung reports Device Solutions totals and Foundry commentary without a standalone Foundry revenue figure.
The table is intentionally more explicit than a market-share ranking. Native presentation values remain visible beside normalized U.S.-dollar values, and each row links directly to its controlling official source.

Shipment comparisons use millions of 300 mm-equivalent wafers. A reported 200 mm or 8-inch-equivalent series is divided by 2.25, the wafer-area ratio. This normalization does not equalize node complexity, die size, yield, or wafer selling price.
TSMC and GlobalFoundries publish annual shipment values on a 12-inch or 300 mm equivalent basis. Their normalized field requires no size conversion.
SMIC and Hua Hong are converted using the 2.25 area ratio. The original company display and derivation remain attached to every row.
Equivalent wafer area is not converted to functional dies, chip units, yield, capacity, utilization, revenue, or market share.
Official monthly, quarterly, annual, SEC, and HKEX publication channels are checked on their release cadence. A changed document is reconciled against its period, unit, scope, and prior observation before publication. Failed checks retain the last validated snapshot.
Reported observations are never silently overwritten. Corrections retain the prior value, new value, source-as-of date, and reason. Guidance remains labeled guidance and cannot replace a reported result.
The JSON endpoint preserves structured datasets. The CSV endpoint exports a long-form analytical table. Unavailable rows may carry a status and explanation, but their numeric field is blank rather than zero.

Company filings and official results are the source of record. Third-party rankings are not copied into the dataset, and a press report does not override an official definition.
